Luol Deng Has Career Game in Bulls 110-98 Win Over the BlazersBy Brad Stewart on November 1, 2010 at 11:01 pm in Bulls
The Bulls took a 5-4 lead over the Blazers at the 9:10 mark of the first quarter and never once looked back. The 110-98 win moves the Bulls to 2-1 on the season, with both wins coming at the United Center.
Luol Deng shot a pitiful 30% from the field in the first two games of the season. Are you surprised that he poured in 40 points on 14 of 19 shooting against the Blazers? Yeah–me too. With Carlos Boozer out a few more weeks, the Bulls are going to struggle finding points. Maybe he’s finally ready to live up to the big contract the Bulls paid him just two seasons ago.
Random But Important Thoughts From the Bulls Win:
-It was nice to see the Bulls play some defense in the first half. Finally!
vs. Oklahoma City: 59 points against
vs. Detroit: 63 points against
vs. Portland: 46 points against
The Bulls won’t win many games if they can’t hold opponents around 50 points per half.
-Three games, three double-doubles for Joakim Noah. I wonder if he can go 82 straight.
-What part of foul TROUBLE don’t the Bulls understand? Through three games, they’ve committed 20 more fouls, which amounts to 40 more free-throws by taken by the opposing team. The Bulls will find trouble late in games if they keep fouling at this rate. This should be an easy thing to figure out.
The Bulls next game is Thursday at 7:00PM CST vs. the new-look-New York Knicks.
I can’t wait to see Joakim dominate Amare’ in the post. Until next time friends!
